Rep. Chandler Introduces Local History Tax Check-off in the Ohio House!

Representative Kathleen Chandler (D-Kent) introduced tax check-off legislation in the Ohio House of Representatives today. House Bill 75 will establish a tax check-off on Ohioans' personal income tax filings that will allow citizens, if owed a return, to donate a part of or the entire return to the Ohio Historical Society. OHS will use funds generated from the tax check-off to create a matching grants program for local history and preservation projects across the state.

On March 4, Sen. Mark Wagoner (R-Ottawa Hills) introduces a similar bill in the senate (Senate Bill 60).
